Who we are
DK Chess Academy runs chess classes at Setiawangsa and Bangi. In this notice, “we” means the academy.
What we collect
- Parent or guardian details: name, NRIC, address, mobile number and email.
- Student details: name, NRIC or MyKid number, date of birth (from the NRIC), school, level and class.
- Payment records: amounts, dates, references and receipts. Card and bank details are handled by Billplz, not by us.
- Attendance and class records, and tournament results.
- Inquiry details you send us, and notes from our calls.
Why we use it
- To process registrations and enrol students in classes.
- To collect fees and send receipts and payment reminders.
- To contact you about classes, changes, closures and your inquiries.
- To take attendance and plan classes.
WhatsApp messages
We send WhatsApp payment reminders and class-day check-ins only if you agree on the registration form. You can ask us to stop at any time and we will switch them off. You will still receive essential messages by email.
Photos and achievements
We show a student’s achievements or photos on the website only if a parent agrees. We show the first name and initial only, for example “Aiman R.”. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We share data only with services that help us run the academy: our payment provider (Billplz), our email and WhatsApp providers, and our secure hosting and database providers. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep payment records for 7 years and other personal data for 2 years after a student leaves, then anonymise it, unless the law requires otherwise.
Your rights
You can ask to see or correct the personal data we hold about you or your child. Contact your branch or send us an inquiry.
